Cascadia SummitJust 6 weeks after CommandWear launched the next generation of situational awareness solutions for first responders, the company has been selected to pitch its business plan to more than 500 investors, entrepreneurs, media and corporate executives at Cascadia Summit 2014 – the premiere event that showcases the most promising start-ups from Western Canada.

Applications from over 100 companies were evaluated by a 9-person panel of investors and entrepreneurs from Canada and the US. CommandWear was one of just 16 finalists chosen to present in this fast and furious pitch competition that promises to be both enlightening and entertaining as these high-tech “soon to be” titans take the stage with their 3-minute slide show presentations.

Judges at the November 21st event at Science World include Dafina Toncheva from US Venture Partners, Sumeet Jain from Intel Capital, Bill Bryant from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Alireza Masrour from Plug and Play Ventures.

“We’re honoured to have been chosen to present at such a prestigious event,” said Michael Morrow, founder and CEO of CommandWear. “We believe that the future safety of our cities and communities requires real-time, simple-to-use, mobile situational awareness tools for first responders who need to keep their eyes, ears and hands on the job at all times. Our goal is to make that a reality sooner rather than later and this event is a great venue to help propel us forward in the execution of our vision.”
